The Sapiente Experience: From Consultation to Completion

Discover what to expect when you book a consultation with Sapiente Education, from personalised guidance to tailored programme recommendations.

Introduction

One of the most important decisions for a student and their parents is choosing the right academic path and support. Whether your child is preparing for university admissions, an important exam, wants to explore deeper into a chosen subject, or is looking to build an academic portfolio, taking the first step to speak with an academic expert is vital.

At Sapiente Education, we believe that the first consultation is not just an introductory session, it is carefully designed to be the first step towards your child’s personalised academic journey with our Oxbridge mentors.

This blog walks you through what parents and students can expect from booking a consultation with us and what happens next in your onboarding process.

Why Book A Consultation with Us?

We believe that before you choose to commit to any academic programme, it's important to ensure that it's the right fit. We understand that every student is different and their interests, goals and learning styles all play an important role in choosing the right programme.

At Sapiente Education, through our consultation, our goal is to:

  • Understand each students academic goals
  • Identify their subject of interest
  • Assess which of our programmes would be the right fit
  • Provide an open, honest and clear guidance

We conduct our consultation session via 3 different modes:

  1. Whatsapp
  2. Email
  3. Online Meeting

What Happens During the Consultation?

The consultation is a complimentary one-to-one session between the student, parents and a member of our Sapiente team. This is not a generic conversation, rather it's a tailored approach to offer guidance and support to each student and their parents.

During the session, we typically explore:

  1. Academic Background: this includes current academic year of study, subjects interested in, academic strengths and weaknesses and overall context.
  2. Academic Interests: Topics they enjoy learning outside of school, and the academic direction they would like to pursue.
  3. Motivation and Goals: Depending on what the student would like to achieve, it could be preparing for competitive university applications, or to strengthen their academic profile and build confidence.
  4. Personality and Learning Style: Understanding the student’s approach to new ideas, their engagement style, and if they prefer structured or flexible learning.
  5. Time Commitment: Understanding their school commitments, what can be realistically managed by the student without any added pressure.
  6. Understanding Parents Expectations: including what they want their child to gain from this experience, personal development goals alongside academic goals, and any concerns or priorities they might have.
  7. Introducing the Sapiente Approach: both students and parents will gain clarity on the programme structure, expectations, mentorship approach, academic outcomes and all the support we offer throughout the programme.

Towards the end of the consultation session we can determine if there is a strong fit and we only recommend moving forward if we believe that the student will gain a meaningful academic experience.

What Happens After the Consultation?

If you decide to move forward with one of our programmes, the next steps are simple, structured and guided by our team every step of the way.

  1. Securing Your Place: The first step is confirming your place in the programme with a deposit. This ensures that each student is able to reserve availability, and enjoy a tailored experience.
  2. Mentor Matching: The most important step is to match your child with the right Oxbridge mentor. Each student is paired with a mentor based on their academic interests, learning styles and goals as the quality of this match is significant to the overall experience.

Onboarding Experience: One-to-One vs Group Programmes

Once the above steps are completed, the onboarding process begins. While we offer a high level of support for all our programmes, the onboarding experience differs slightly depending on whether a student is joining a one-to-one or a group programme.

  1. One-to-One Programmes:

For our one-to-one programmes, the onboarding process is tailored to be highly personalised to each individual student. Each student typically receives:

  • A personalised onboarding document
  • A clear session plan with focused outcomes and milestones
  • A structured schedule depending on their availability
  • Mentor, and if applicable, a writing coach profiles
  • Guidance on how to access online learning materials and tools.

This approach ensures that every student starts their journey with clarity on what they will be working towards and all kinds of support that is available to them throughout the journey.

  1. Group Programmes:

For our group programmes, the onboarding process is designed for students who will be joining and collaborating with a small group of motivated students. Each student typically receives:

  • A detailed programme overview and sessions schedule
  • An introduction to the format of these group sessions
  • An overview of the students you will be working with
  • Guidance on how to access online learning materials and tools.
  • A structured programme outcome and all the support available

In this approach, students will be working with an ambitious peer group and gain a clear understanding of their contributions to discussions, insights, projects, group presentations and shared learning.

Conclusion

Choosing the right academic journey can feel daunting, but with Sapiente we want our students to be personally guided to ensure their journey is based on clarity not confusion.
